Giving Back: Empty Bowls 2018
March 16, 2018
On Wednesday, March 7th, Habitat America’s corporate office participated in Empty Bowls 2018. This yearly event is sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore. The mission of Empty Bowls is to raise awareness and funds for the homeless and hungry individuals of the Baltimore community.
The staff met in the conference room and each hand painted a ceramic bowl-that was then donated back to the charity. On Saturday, March 24th, these bowls, along with many others, will be displayed at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. The event has various vendors that donate soup tastings, catering, raffles and family entertainment. Attendees will have the chance to take home one of the hand painted bowls! The event is from 1-4 pm and tickets can be purchased online at : www.emptybowlsbaltimore.org.
Last year’s event helped provide 66,000 meals to the Baltimore community. Stay tuned for this year’s results!
